A political war of words has intensified in Tamil Nadu after actor-politician and Chief Minister Vijay's remarks in the Assembly drew a sharp response from the DMK. DMK leader T.K.S. Elangovan called Vijay's comment about M.K. Stalin "unethical" and "third-rate", arguing that the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister's party did not secure an absolute majority. Elangovan said that a "third-rate comment" would invite a similar response.
