Political equations in Tamil Nadu have become more complicated after the DMK rejected the VCK's proposal for a joint front with actor-politician Vijay's TVK against the BJP. The DMK clarified that there is no proposal for a national-level alliance with TVK and suggested that the VCK should take its proposal directly to Vijay, who has repeatedly described the DMK as his principal political rival. The DMK also intensified its criticism of the Congress, accusing it of failing to function as a committed INDIA bloc partner, exposing widening cracks within the opposition alliance.
