Tamil Nadu News | Amit Shah's Pongal Outreach in Trichy Signals BJP's Tamil Nadu Poll Push

Union Home Minister Amit Shah is in Tamil Nadu on a two-day visit, stepping up the BJP's outreach ahead of the Assembly elections. On Monday, Shah joined Pongal celebrations in Tiruchirappalli under the party's 'Namma Ooru Modi Pongal' programme, where 1,008 women prepared the traditional harvest dish along with their families. Shah is also scheduled to visit the Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in Srirangam to offer prayers. The outreach comes a day after he signalled a strong NDA push in the state, backing an alliance led by the BJP against the ruling DMK, and stepping up attacks on Chief Minister M K Stalin over governance, corruption and dynasty politics.
