Tamil Nadu Doubles Down On Maternity Benefits: 365 Days Leave For Third Child
Tamil Nadu is set to extend maternity leave benefits for women government employees having a third child. The current provision offers 365 days of maternity leave to married women government employees with fewer than two surviving children, while women with two or more surviving children are entitled to 12 weeks. Under the new move, maternity leave for a third child will be increased from 12 weeks to 365 days.
