Tamil Nadu celebrates Deepavali, the festival of light, in a little less colourful way due to the pandemic. Most families were up early for the traditional oil bath. For the second year, the state government has permitted bursting of crackers only for two hours. Theatres have reopened but there are no new releases. In some relief, the state's daily Covid tally dipped is 2,000 after five months. NDTV visited The Gopis in Chennai to talk to people about their celebrations.
