The CBI has made a major breakthrough in the alleged conspiracy to murder Chandranath Rath, the personal assistant to West Bengal BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari. The agency has arrested two brothers, identified as Sagar Sonkar and Saheb Sonkar, in connection with the case.

According to CBI sources, investigators are probing alleged links between the accused and a political party in West Bengal. The agency is also examining whether a political leader may have played a role in the alleged conspiracy.

The CBI claims that one of the accused, Sagar Sonkar, had previously worked with a local political leader before later joining Chandranath Rath. Investigators are analysing call records and other evidence as part of the ongoing probe into the alleged political angle.
