The political battle over the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls has intensified after the Supreme Court clarified that it had not approved any modified version of Form 6 used during the exercise. While the court sought responses from the Election Commission and refused to restrain the Chief Election Commissioner from taking decisions, the Opposition has seized upon the remarks to allege manipulation and demand CEC Gyanesh Kumar's resignation. The Election Commission has rejected the charges as misleading, setting the stage for a high-voltage showdown over electoral credibility, institutional accountability and public trust.
