Strait Of Hormuz News | Iran Warns Of Hormuz Closure If US Strikes Its Power Plants

Iran warned it would close the Strait of Hormuz immediately if the U.S. carries out its threat to “obliterate" Iranian power plants. US President Donald Trump late Saturday set a 48-hour deadline to reopen the Strait. Lieutenant Colonel Ebrahim Zolfaghari, spokesman for Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya headquarters, also threatened to target regional energy and desalination sites in retaliation. He also said that Iran would target Israel’s power plants as well as its IT infrastructure. "All similar companies in the region that have American shareholders will be completely destroyed,” he warned. The war has taken a dangerous turn after Iranian missiles hit near a nuclear research area in southern Israel and Iran said its main nuclear enrichment site was struck Saturday.
