Storm over US snooping; India wants details, European Union strongly objects

Amid global outrage at the revelation that US National Security Agency has been conducting secret surveillance on Web users around the world, India has said it is "unacceptable" if its privacy laws have been violated. The European Union is worried the sweeping spy programme could affect the privacy of its citizens.
