Citigroup's first-quarter profit remained virtually flat from a year earlier at $2.9 billion. US retail sales rose solidly in March as Americans shrugged off high gasoline prices and bought a range of goods. Meanwhile, in Europe, Spanish 10 year bond yields top 6% for the first time since December.
