Lighting up the maximum city with the power of the sun, are these tree-shaped 12-foot-tall installations that are fitted with solar power panels and LED lights.
These 'solar trees' are the brainchild of Aditi and Abhijeet Sircar, a couple whose mission is to power the city with renewable energy. The couple's environmental consultancy firm Apro GreenTech has been working with Mumbai's municipal body, the BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation), to achieve this goal and has installed solar trees across different locations in Mumbai and the country including for the Indian Army & Indian Railways. The latest addition to their solar tree family is at Mumbai's famous Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus station.
