India's first private rocket company, Skyroot Aerospace, is just months away from its first full orbital launch, according to Co-founder and CEO Pawan Kumar Chandana. In an exclusive conversation with NDTV, Chandana said the Hyderabad-based startup is completing final hardware integration and critical tests before launch. He highlighted Skyroot's ambition to become the "Uber of space" by offering dedicated, on-demand launches for small satellites. While ruling out any immediate IPO plans, Chandana said the company ultimately aims to develop reusable rockets and even transport humans to space, building on India's growing private space ecosystem.
