SIR Row Likely To Dominate Winter Session As Opposition Gears Up
As Parliament's winter session begins tomorrow, the Special Intensive Revision (S.I.R) of electoral rolls is expected to dominate political clashes. Several opposition parties - including the Congress, TMC, SP and Shiv Sena (UBT) - have sharply criticised the government and the Election Commission, calling the SIR exercise "rushed" and blaming it for putting extreme pressure on Booth Level Officers (BLOs).
