#Aadhaar to #iphone: biometrics gone wrong?

On Monday, the Supreme Court questioned the 'purpose' of the government's ambitious biometrics-based citizens identification Aadhaar card, saying that it can't be made mandatory for getting government benefits and also cannot be given to illegal immigrants. Also on Monday, the biometrics-feature iPhone 5s marked record sales of nine million handsets even as a group of German hackers' video which showed how easily the fingerprint feature can be hacked went viral. Is technology in a needless clash with the need for individual privacy? We discuss.
