"A Force For Good": Can The S'QUAD' Tame The Dragon?

With the threat of China weighing heavily on their minds, the leaders of India, the US, Japan and Australia - the QUAD - met in Tokyo and announced more steps to solidify their alliance. It included a new maritime collaboration to counter illegal fishing by Chinese vessels and a Quad fellowship that will sponsor 100 students from the four countries to study in the US each year for graduate degrees in science, technology, engineering and math. The joint statement, which also talks of cooperation on climate change, cybersecurity, infrastructure, says "the Quad is a force for good".  What does it mean on the ground as far as Chinese aggression is concerned? Can the India, US, Australia, Japan "Squad" tame the dragon?
