With 29,689 Covid cases recorded in the last 24 hours, India reports less than 30,000 daily cases for the first time in 132 days. Only 11 lakh people have been tested. But the R factor - a statistic used worldwide to track, and potentially, control the spread of the virus - is now at 0.99 amid concerns that cases may rise again. Meanwhile. Experts analyse why Kerala is seeing the biggest daily spike, contributing 40 per cent of India's fresh cases.
