There has been political outcry after the Vedanta-Foxconn signed a deal with the Gujarat government to set up the much-awaited semiconductor plant project, that, until the last minute, was slated for Maharashtra, whose government had offered the companies a massive subsidy for the same. In another instance, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was left red-faced after BMW denied the Punjab government's claim that BMW was setting up a manufacturing unit in the state.
