The BJP has approached the Election Commission (EC) alleging Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra violated the Representation of Peoples Act by spreading fake news about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's donation at a temple in Rajasthan. The Congress has filed eight similar complaints with the EC against BJP leaders. The Madhya Pradesh Congress, in the meantime, has switched candidates in four seats after protests by party workers. In Telangana, the BJP faced a setback with former MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal leaving the party to join the Congress. The idea of "one nation, one election" got more support with the high-powered committee under former President Ram Nath Kovind meeting for a second time. The committee has decided to reach out to all political parties to know their views on the matter.
