The Right to Information Act turned a decade old on October 12. But the Congress took the opportunity to blame the BJP for suffocating the Act. It accused the government of attempting to dilute an act that helped expose some major scams including the Commonwealth Games, the 2G case and the Adarsh Housing case. While 20 per cent posts remain unoccupied, the number of pending cases has risen to over three crore across the country. On Agenda, we debate whether Babus, Netas or the judiciary have got the better of the RTI and does the Act need saving.
