Decoding Unseasonal Vegetable Price Rise

Vegetable prices are unusually high, tomatoes and onion are in the red zone with retail price hovering between Rs 50-80/kg across 27 cities. We try to understand the reason behind this unseasonal hike in prices of vegetables especially during winter which is considered to be a season of low veggie prices.
