As the Women's Reservation Bill returns to the centre of political debate ahead of Parliament's Monsoon Session, BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla defended the NDA's push and launched a sharp attack on the Opposition.
Speaking to NDTV, Poonawalla questioned why the Congress failed to enact the legislation when it was in power, recalling the political hurdles during the UPA years. Using a cricket analogy, he argued that political parties cannot remain neutral on such a crucial issue, saying, "In cricket, nobody abstains."
