Congress leader Shashi Tharoor addressed questions about factionalism within the United Democratic Front (UDF) and the Congress party, saying differing views within the party reflect a “vibrant democratic impulse.” He said internal debate is natural in a political organisation with diverse perspectives. Tharoor said that despite differences, Congress leaders remain disciplined on key matters such as elections, parliamentary performance and following the party whip. He added that members are free to express their views openly until crucial decisions are made. Referring to remarks by Rahul Gandhi, Tharoor said Congress leaders must “dance together” as elections approach. He also pointed to recent political outreach in Kerala, saying party leaders have shown support for one another and will continue to work together ahead of upcoming polls.
