Shashi Tharoor On Israel-Iran War:“India Alone Can’t Do Anything”

Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor expressed deep concern over the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran, warning of serious global repercussions. Speaking on the situation, Tharoor highlighted the immediate fallout, including stranded travelers, evacuations, and ongoing strikes across multiple countries as the conflict widens across the region. He noted that the war has already disrupted global energy markets, with crude oil prices rising sharply from around $65 to over $83 per barrel, while supply chains have been affected after Qatar reportedly declared force majeure on gas contracts. According to Tharoor, the conflict has now drawn in 11 countries, with Lebanon also coming under attack, raising fears of a broader regional war.
