'Service Over Status': PMO's New Home Named 'Seva Teerth'

An era is drawing to a close as the Prime Minister’s Office prepares to move out of the iconic South Block, its home since Independence. Narendra Modi is set to begin work from a new office complex near Raisina Hill, officially named Seva Teerth, later this month. Designed as part of the Central Vista redevelopment, the Seva Teerth complex comprises three buildings housing the Prime Minister’s Office, the Cabinet Secretariat, and the National Security Council Secretariat, including the office of NSA Ajit Doval. Officials say the open-floor design and technologically advanced meeting spaces reflect a shift in work culture, while the renaming underscores a broader move away from colonial-era symbolism toward a governance philosophy centred on service over status.
