Sergio Gor Takes Charge As US Envoy To India
Ambassador Designate Sergio Gor has assumed his duties at the US Embassy in New Delhi today. While delivering his opening statement, the 39-year-old said that there is "great friendship between Trump and Modi" and that the partnership between both the countries is the most crucial one of the century, adding that real friends always resolve differences. The Ambassador's appointment comes at a sensitive moment in India-US ties which has come under biggest strain over trade issues.
