Sasikala Stakes Claim To Form Government In Meet With Governor | Read

"Chinamma stakes claim to form government," the AIADMK tweeted as party chief VK Sasikala met Governor C Vidyasagar Rao with 10 top ministers today. Before she sought to be appointed Tamil Nadu's next Chief Minister, Ms Sasikala visited J Jayalalithaa's memorial at Chennai's Marina Beach and placed there a list of 130 legislators. Her party's O Panneerselvam has also met Governor Rao and handed him a petition in which he has explained that he resigned as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister under duress earlier this week. But till late night, there was no response from the Governor. Ms Sasikala has the support of most of the ruling party's legislators, but Mr Panneerselvam claims many of them are privately in touch with him and will support him if he is allowed to take a trust vote.
