The Russian Pacific Fleet was seen conducting target practice in the Sea of Japan on Monday. Defence Ministry footage shows a 'Varyag' cruiser launching 'Vulkan' and 'Moskit' cruise missiles. The video also features a Bastion coastal missile system firing Onyx cruise missiles at a naval target. The ministry added that those involved in their manoeuvres had 'successfully fulfilled their tasks'. The drills, which involve Pacific Fleet forces, are scheduled for June 16-30 in the waters of the Pacific Ocean, the Sea of Okhotsk and the Sea of Japan. They include up to 40 ships, boats, and support vessels, as well as over 30 aircraft and helicopters. Additionally, more than 5,000 specialists and personnel from coastal missile systems take part in the exercises.
