Four Indian students were among several people injured in a knife attack at a foreign students’ hostel in Ufa, Russia’s Bashkortostan Republic, the Indian Embassy in Moscow has confirmed. The stabbing occurred inside the sports hall of a university hostel, triggering an emergency response from local authorities. Indian officials from the Consulate in Kazan are rushing to Ufa to assist the injured students. According to preliminary information, there may have been two attackers. One suspect, a 15-year-old teenager armed with a knife, has been hospitalised and is reported to be in serious condition. The Indian Embassy said it is in constant touch with Russian authorities and is providing all necessary assistance to the affected Indian nationals.
