A political storm has erupted in West Bengal after a Trinamool Congress Vijaya Sammelan in Malda, where state ministers Sabina Yasmin and Tajmul Hossain were caught on record making explosive remarks about the Statewide Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The ministers warned of "ruckus" and even "destruction" in their localities if voter names are removed during the SIR process. The opposition BJP has reacted sharply, accusing the Bengal ministers of trying to create terror and demanding that elections in the state be held under president's rule.
