Post COVID India's top micro markets recoded a major hike in rents. Bengaluru recorded maximum rental hike from among other key markets like Mumbai MMR, Delhi NCR, Chennai and Pune. Tenants aren't just harassed by whooping rents, but also by restrictive clauses imposed by landlords. On the other hand, home owners suffer too. Rental hikes is a reality but another fact is that India is the only market in the world offering lowest rental yields on property. Can the Model Tenancy Act 2021 protect rights of tenants?
