Rishi Sunak Is New UK Prime Minister
On Diwali, Rishi Sunak is the new PM of the UK. The first non-white, Hindu PM of the country and at the age of 42, also the youngest. The path was cleared for him after he secured the support of most Tory MPs in the leadership race, and his rivals, Boris Johnson and Penny Mordaunt dropped out. Sunak lost the race to Liz Truss only last month but after she made a mess of the economy, the Tories turned to Rishi to bail them out.
