Railway Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal and Law Minister Ashwani Kumar resigned following a meeting of Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. The resignations came amid speculation that the Mrs Gandhi was not keen on both men - smeared by scams - continuing in office, although the PM had so far backed them. We debate if the government should have acted earlier.
