Renaming Allahabad A Distraction From Polluted Ganga?
On Trending @ 10, we're asking what's in a name. A lot of political capital it seems. UP Chief Minster Yogi Adityanath has indicated that if there is a consensus on the issue, Allahabad will be renamed as Prayagraj before the Kumbh Mela. This has got mixed reactions. But it comes at a time when there is anger with the government over unkept promises when it comes to cleaning the Ganga. Recently, Professor GD Agarwal lost his life after fasting for over 111 days demanding the government fulfill its promise of an aviral and nirmal Ganga. So is this name change just a distraction?
