The November 1 INDIA bloc rally at Delhi's Ramlila Maidan has sparked a political showdown before it even begins. The Chamber of Trade and Industry has urged Rahul Gandhi to postpone the rally until after Diwali, warning that disruptions during the crucial festive shopping season could cost traders thousands of crores. Rahul Gandhi has reportedly challenged traders to ask Prime Minister Narendra Modi to remove Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, saying the protest would stop within 30 seconds. While Congress leaders argue the rally could boost festive sales, the BJP has backed the traders and is preparing a nationwide counter-offensive over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
