Raakh | Raakh Stars Sonali Bendre, Aamir Bashir On How Ranga-Billa Case Changed Their Childhood

The horrific Ranga-Billa case of 1978 did not just shock Delhi; it altered the way an entire generation of Indians viewed safety, strangers, and childhood itself. Nearly five decades later, the impact of the crime continues to linger in public memory, something that became evident to the cast and makers of Raakh, a new crime drama inspired by the infamous case. Speaking about the lasting influence of the incident, actor Aamir Bashir recalled how the crime marked a turning point in his own childhood. "I was a young boy at that time. But yes, it was one of those seminal moments. It was probably the first crime of this magnitude to have such an impact, despite it not being the digital age. I remember, as a young boy, it was like a watershed moment - there was a pre and post, and it was the end of our innocence as well," he told NDTV.
