With Karnataka's recently held state elections, the mandate of forming a new government has been passed on to Indian National Congress. Will the new government of Karnataka be able to bring Bengaluru's civic woes to rest ? As per the Economist Intelligence Unit's Global Liveability Index 2022, Bengaluru has become the least liveable city in India and among the lowest in the world. The city of gardens, also known as the fastest growing IT city, contributes more than 30% to the state's GDP. However, the capital city of Karnataka has been in the news, due to its depleting road infrastructure, traffic issues and flooding during rains. Besides Bengaluru's municipal body – BBMP (Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagar Palike), Karnataka has many parastatals each with its own mandate. How then will the new government ensure effective administration and put an end to the issues that plague its residents? Will the infrastructure projects planned for Bengaluru help end traffic problems? How will the BWSSB - Bangalore Water Supply & Sewerage Board, relieve Bengaluru from water shortage and flooding problems.
