India's Green Buildings: What's Missing?

India beats Canada to rank second in the U.S. Green Building Council's (USGBC) list of the Top 10 Countries for LEED certification in 2022. Yet, greener buildings are more in demand in India's commercial real estate sector and not in residential, even though residential comprises 75% of India's real estate market. Municipal incentives such as Floor Area Ratio and rebate in property tax have failed to be bait enough for developers to build greener homes. Without participation of the residential real estate sector can India meet it's target of net zero carbon emissions by 2070?
