Princess Diana’s iconic black evening dress, famously dubbed the “revenge dress,” has gone on display at Sotheby’s in London ahead of its December auction. Worn by Diana on June 29, 1994, the Christina Stambolian dress became one of the most recognisable outfits in royal history, worn on the night Prince Charles publicly acknowledged his affair. Sotheby’s estimates the dress could fetch between $150,000 and $300,000. After its London display, the dress will tour Hong Kong, Geneva and New York ahead of the sale.
