Pricey Tomatoes Squeezing Daily Budget
Tomato prices are soaring across the country, costing as much as Rs 160 to Rs 200 rupees a kilo. This has even led to tomato robberies and people switching to tomato puree. But now the centre has stepped in and asked government departments to procure tomatoes from mandi and sell them at discounted rates.
