President signs Office of Profit Bill
A day after the government tried to placate the President on the office of profit issue, President APJ Abdul Kalam has signed the Office of Profit bill. The President's assent means that the 56 additional posts held by key members like Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee, Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh are now no longer considered as offices of profit.
