Jan Suraaj founder Prashant Kishor has scripted one of the biggest political upsets in Bihar by winning the Bankipur Assembly by-election, ending the BJP's uninterrupted hold over the constituency since 1995. Contesting his first-ever election, Kishor defeated BJP candidate Neeraj Kumar by 19,324 votes, delivering a major blow to the ruling party and marking the BJP's first significant electoral setback in Bihar since Samrat Chaudhary became Chief Minister.
