Portugal Protest | Thousands Of Portuguese Rally In Protest Against Government's Labor Reforms
Tens of thousands of people marched through Lisbon to protest labor reforms proposed by Prime Minister Luis Montenegro’s government. Organized by Portugal’s main labor union, demonstrators opposed measures they say threaten workers’ rights and make dismissals easier. The reforms also limit flexible work schedules for breastfeeding women and reduce miscarriage leave. Protesters called for higher wages and announced a general strike on December 11.
