PoK Revolt, Balochistan Unrest: Is Pakistan Heading for a Bigger Crisis?
Pakistan is facing mounting pressure on multiple fronts.
In Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), a three-week-long sit-in protest has intensified, with demonstrators in Rawalakot declaring they are "not part of Pakistan" just days ahead of the region's July 27 elections.
At the same time, Balochistan has witnessed a sharp escalation in violence, with the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) claiming attacks that have killed dozens of security personnel this month, prompting a fresh military counter-insurgency operation.
With Army Chief Asim Munir confronting unrest, separatist movements and a struggling economy, questions are being raised over whether Pakistan could attempt to shift attention outward by escalating tensions with India.
