Tensions continue to simmer in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir as the authorities's crackdown on local protests claimed 8 lives. Thousands of locals hit the streets for funerals of those who were killed in the protests, bringing daily life to a standstill . Earlier in the week, thousands of locals held protests against the Shehbaz Sharif govt over high unemployment and alleged rights abuse. High unemployment rate and dissatisfaction have also fueled public anger leading to region wide strike by the Jammu Kashmir Joint Awami Action committee.
