PM Modi Turns 76: Nationwide Celebrations, Bike Rally From Vadnagar To Varanasi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi turns 76 today, with nationwide service initiatives, public events and prayers marking his birthday.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah flagged off a bike rally from Modi's birthplace Vadnagar to Varanasi, while BJP president Nitin Nabin inaugurated a blood donation camp in Delhi. In Varanasi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Union Minister Chirag Paswan offered prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple.
In Delhi, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta performed a havan, while BJP leaders across the country joined prayer and service programmes. PM Modi thanked people for their birthday wishes, saying the gesture of an "Ashirwad ka diya" had deeply touched him.
