After a gap of nearly 52 years, Rajasthan is set to get its second nuclear power plant in Banswara, following the success of the Chittorgarh (Rawatbhata) facility. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Banswara today to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for projects worth Rs. 1.08 lakh crore, including the 2,800 MW Mahi Banswara Nuclear Power Project. This major addition will boost India's nuclear capacity from 8,080 MW to 10,180 MW, making Rawatbhata the country's largest nuclear facility, overtaking Kudankulam in Tamil Nadu.
