PM Modi Meets Rebel TMC MPs Ahead of Monsoon Session
A major political development has unfolded ahead of Parliament's Monsoon Session as rebel Trinamool Congress MPs, led by Sudeep Bandopadhyay, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence in New Delhi.
Government sources said the MPs have consistently maintained that they are no longer part of the Trinamool Congress and are functioning as the NCPI parliamentary group. They have been invited to the all-party meeting along with other recognised parliamentary groups to discuss the agenda for the Monsoon Session.
The meeting assumes significance as sources indicate that the rebel MPs are expected to support the NDA during the upcoming Parliament session, potentially strengthening the ruling alliance's numbers and influence.
