A group of 17 young footballers from across Sikkim described their interaction with Prime Minister Narendra Modi as “unforgettable” after they got an opportunity to play football with him at Lok Bhawan. Speaking on behalf of the players, Prekila Tamang said the experience felt less like meeting a Prime Minister and more like spending time with a friend. The players, representing different parts of the state including Namchi and other regions, expressed gratitude to officials and the sports department for the rare opportunity. She said the interaction went beyond sports, with discussions on health, fitness, and government initiatives. “We talked openly, and it didn’t feel formal at all,” she added. Calling it a proud and memorable moment, the players said they felt privileged to be part of the Prime Minister’s visit to Sikkim and thanked everyone involved in making the interaction possible."
