PM Modi Celebrates Igas Festival At Residence Of BJP MP Anil Banuli

Uttarakhand's popular Igas festival was celebrated at the residence of Lok Sabha MP Anil Baluni with much fervour. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, JP Nadda, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar were part of the celebrations at his house in Delhi. PM Modi also participated in tulsi puja and gau puja at Anil Baluni's house. Igas or 'Budhi Diwali' is celebrated in Uttarakhand 11 days after Diwali It is believed that when Lord Ram returned to Ayodhya -- which marks Diwali celebrations in the entire nation -- the news of his return reached the hills 11 days late because of the remote terrain and lack of connectivity, which accounts for the gap in the celebrations.
