SAP Unveils Rs. 19B Bengaluru Hub for 15K Employees

SAP Labs India has inaugurated a new campus in Devanahalli, Bengaluru, close to the Kempegowda International Airport, & this is part of SAP's continued efforts & investments in India. This project in particular is backed by a 194 million investment. SAP already has a dedicated office space in Whitefield, Bangalore, but this here is the largest of it's kind for them globally. The Devanahalli campus is planned to accommodate 15,000 professionals, with specific attention being given to developing innovative products, & everyone woring out of here being an AI engineer in some capacity.
The facility was inaugurated by Karnataka CM Shri Siddaramaiiah in the presence of many other dignitaries like His Excellency Phillip Ackkerman, German Ambassador, Shri Priyank Kharge, Shri Ashnivi Vaishnav & many of SAP's global & Indian leadership.
The site includes India's second SAP Experience Centre and features sustainability-focused infrastructure such as a 2.5-acre rainwater retention lake, solar power systems, and over 2,000 native trees. Accessibility measures include tactile pathways, braille signage, and gender-neutral restrooms. Another key highlight at the campis was the S Mart demo zone, where smart cameras, localised AI data processing, multiple sensors & payment gateway integraions allow one to just walk in, pick everything you need & walk out, to give a humanless check-out shopping experience. this is the only functional facility of it's kind in India right now & a rarity globally as well.
SAP also announced several academic partnerships, including a €100,000 AI Career Accelerator Programme with EduBridge to train over 400 underserved students, and collaborations with IIT Madras, Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya, and the Technical University of Munich (TUM). TUM plans to establish a research hub at the new campus, focusing on quantum computing, HealthTech data, and Physical AI. SAP's focus on inclusivity, employee wellness & a technology led innovation oriented future can be observed here & in times where AI is causing headlines over layoffs, SAP will soon be on a hiring spree to fill this campus with what SAP calls, 'innovators', signals of SAP's long-term commitment to innovation and talent development in India.
